Travel in Luxury to San Juan Puerto Rico from NYC. The "Off Season" is the time to go.
First of all, we all know that hotels can become crowded and a drag. And that is why we suggest the "Off Season". ESJ Azul is a beautiful, clean hotel right on the beach in San Juan. Furthermore, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. We were able to snag a balcony room for a ridiculous price! ESJ Azul has a luxury bar and restaurant. And we plan on going back. Enjoy some fresh made waffles at the breakfast buffet. And then throw on your swim trunks and go veg on the beach!
Old San Juan
Especially relevant, the rich history of Puerto Rico can become shaded by the attractions of tourism. First of all, Spain settled in Old San Juan first in 1521. Furthermore, one can walk around the old city and come across many stretches of history. Stroll through the narrow roadways of Old San Juan. In addition, choose any of the many boutique places to eat. Latin, Spanish, Asian. It is especially open during the "Off Season". Be sure to go by Castillo San Cristobal, a huge fortress looking across the sea.
El Yunque National Forest
Established first by King Alfonso XII of Spain in 1876, is one of the oldest reserves in the Western Hemisphere. Also, El Yunque receives near to two hundred inches of rainfall a year. Consequently, it is a heavy rain forest with a large ecosystem. Drive up the windy road in El Yunque and begin the ascent to El Yunque peak. While at the peak, you can see the intimidating expanse of the rainforest and the vast Atlantic. El Yunque shows the diversity of activity in Puerto Rico. Enjoy the beach, the city, and deep forest. El Yunque was only about a forty minute drive from ESJ Azul, our hotel.
Luxury lies in many places - and it is not always where the masses are!
